So this weekend I held my first ever photography workshop! 😀
Running a photography workshop is something I have wanted to do for a while, to many people get bought a camera for Christmas or birthdays but just stick it on Auto and have no idea how to use the more advanced settings on their cameras...
I designed this workshop for beginners as an introduction to understanding the more technical aspects of their camera how to get those blurry backdrops and be confident in different lighting situations as everyone wants to take better photos of their family and on holidays right?!
I was so nervous at first, and all the time planning, never having held a class before and doubting my knowledge, would I be okay enough etc. but Its safe to say I bloody loved it! My group couldn't have been more lovely! It was such a pleasant environment to teach in; everyone said they learned something new and felt more confident now with their cameras which was my aim! The feedback already has been so excellent.
The session was held in two parts, the first indoors and teaching the basics of aperture, ISO and shutter speed, the second part is outdoors putting what we learned in the first half into practice. I'm sure the group wanted to stay out all afternoon, but we just didn't have the time!
Now I have successfully done the first one I would love to do more. If you would be interested in learning about how to use the more advanced settings on your camera, please get in touch. I will also be running other workshops on all the other aspects of photography, if you have any subjects in mind again, please let me know, and I will design a workshop accordingly.
