Alex and Claire Roll into Good Times
Wow! What a weekend it's been. Friday arrived and I spent the evening at the highly anticipated launch of the Cupola Contemporary Art Gallery in Sheffield. It was great fun to meet lots of other creative artists and like-minded individuals - a lovely start to the weekend! Then, on Saturday, I jumped on a train to London, choo choo! I always enjoy visiting London, it's a vibrant, busy city full of life and love. I'm currently expanding my client base and taking on more weddings, events and shoots down in the South - I feel so lucky to be able to explore so many huge, wonderful cities taking the prettiest photos of my lovely clients.
On Saturday morning, I enjoyed a consultation with a splendid couple who I met at the Gay Wedding Show in Camden earlier this year who have chosen me to be their wedding photographer - yippee! It was fantastic to get to know the sweet grooms and I really can't wait to photograph their wedding soon. Shortly afterward, I got on the tube down to Old Street in sunny Shoreditch because I wanted to make the most of my time in London and what better way to do that than by offering one enchanting couple a free couples shoot with myself to take advantage of the various bright backdrops and cool scenery in The Big Smoke. I was lucky enough to meet Alex and Claire who are my couple of the week this week. They live in Hackney and enjoy rolling around London, having lots of adventures together.
Alex has just opened her very own amazing bike shop in Hackney, she loves restoring vintage bikes and Alex does it with style, making each one look unique and beautiful - be sure to check out Frankenbike here. Funnily enough, Claire tumbled into the shoot, Alex bought her a bike earlier on the day of the shoot, which she actually fell off - whoopsie! Alex and Claire met at the Roller Derby and they were beaming with positive vibes. Claire loved Alex when they first met, however, being her coach, she didn't do anything about it initially. It was whilst she was on a night out, waiting for her friends who didn't arrive on time that she asked Alex to come and dance with her - how cute! A few hours and many drinks later, they kissed and have never looked back since.
They enjoy many hobbies together including Roller Derby (of course), converting Alex's Renault Kangoo Van into a camper to take trips in at a later date amongst much more. They have two cats, Sheila and Leo, and, also have a third kitten living in their shared flat, called Luna. The couple's favourite holiday together was when they visited Tenerife last year, sunning themselves, playing lots of games of pool and watching the sunset each evening. They were also lucky enough to see whales and dolphins at sea whilst they were there.
The couples shoot was relaxed and super-fun. We enjoyed skating round London and in true Nelly Naylor style, I located the coolest backdrops for Alex and Claire to pose in front of - it was great seeing all of the brilliant graffiti around every corner. I'm so proud of the moments we captured on camera this weekend and I hope that you agree that Alex and Claire couldn't be any cooler if they tried. It was a delightful way to spend my Saturday and I'm excited for the week ahead.
